The only way to clean carpet well is with a van mount. These weak portable extractors basically do a half assed job and leave the carpet really wet.
Steam is still a form of water, and you use water to clean….
nice hot water extraction…no such thing as steam cleaning, steam is a gas.

Good information on how to maintain your carpet. If your carpet is dirty, a large truck mounted unit is a very good choice. It works much the same as above, but higher suction power and usually better heat for cleaning.

steam is a gas…..what you are actually cleaning the carpet with is hot water…..hence the term “hot water extraction”….but yes, if you have a machine that gets good heat, steam will come up from the wand…..if it was a true “steam” cleaning, no liquid would be used, just gas…..thats what he meant and thats the way its looked by the iicrc carpet cleaning course instructors
